Warhammer 40k
Philosophy
Da Boyz have a very different play style compared to many other clubs. Instead of coming up with the next most powerful army to annihilate our opponents, many of Da Boyz concentrate on balanced, fun to play as and against, “fluffy” armies. The underlying philosophy is to rely on the strength of the player rather than the army he is shuffling around the table. This is not to say that there aren’t strong armies in our club, but in almost all cases they stay clear of an over-the-top or ‘Ard Boyz level of composition.
Da Boyz tournaments are structured with the same ideas in mind, often featuring “soft” scores with a significant amount of weighting in overall tournament ranking. Painting, army composition, and sportsmanship are very important to the overall experience of a Da Boyz tournament, and players who bring a creative, well crafted army with a good attitude are generously rewarded. If you are considering attending a Da Boyz tournament or GT, please keep this in mind when assembling your forces. It might not be what you’re used to, but we like to think that’s what makes a Da Boyz tournament something special to say you’ve attended.
Rochester is also host to the annual ‘Ard Boyz competitions for players seeking a more statistically driven challenge.
DaBOYZ GT 2010 was a great success and we thank everyone for attending and showing their support.
Our GT is an event sponsored by players who enjoy playing 40K. We enjoy all aspects involved in this hobby and we want our tournament to reflect that idea. We focus on having fun and are offering a competitive environment for all gamers who love competing at the highest level.
